Hi 2nd graders! I miss you all so much. I have recorded the next chapters of "Mr. Popper's Penguins" for you to listen to. Mrs. Buckley's class should listen to Chapters 7 & 8 before 9 & 10 because we didn't see each other on Friday, March 13 so we are a little behind. If Mrs. Minoletti's class wants to re-listen to Chapters 7 and/or 8 you may, but you must at least listen to Chapters 9 & 10. After you listen to Chapters 9 & 10, please write down what foreshadowing means and also write a prediction for what you think will happen next. Then put it in a folder for next week to see if you're correct! Also, the Kindergarten - 1st grade activity uses one of your favorites "The Book with No Pictures". So if you're bored at home you can check it out. Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapters 9 & 10What do you know about U.S. presidents? This week you will be doing a web hunt to learn about the inaugural addresses of some of the presidents. Please click on the buttons below to go to the website and worksheet you will need to complete, print, scan or take a picture of and turn in by clicking the button below.

Good afternoon parents and students! Some people have had issues with the assignment today so I have removed it. You luck out - in library class I usually have you silent read for me for about 20 minutes before I read to you. So that's what I want you to do today. I want you to read any book for 20 minutes and then send me an email telling me what you read about! Thank you for your patience.
Please watch author B. J. Novak read his book "The Book with No Pictures" and then on a piece of paper, invent 5 of your own nonsense words . Once you've made up the nonsense words, use each of them in a sentence. For example: The blorft was ready to blast off to outer space. When you finish, please turn in your work by taking a picture or scanning your paper and clicking the button below! If you want to do another activity, you can also create one of these fun masks at home inspired by the story!

The Best Lent Ever video series by Matthew Kelly is a great way help us reflect and pray during this Lenten season. Many of the videos teach us about some of our Catholic saints. They may be a bit difficult to relate to for many of the younger students, but I think many of them can get something out of the videos. Click below to watch the ones that have been released so far and click here to sign up to have them sent to your email.
